As I Am

see relatedOk, so I've become a slacker again... I'm forgetting to blog, because life becomes hectic fast in Sierraland.
I've been doing a whole lot. Friday (and Saturday nights if I have time) I'm at Appalachian Caverns for the haunted tours. Typically I'm the battered tour guide whose eyes have been attempted to be clawed out. I'm there from 4:30-12:30 or 1 in the morning. Then the next day I have to recover. Saturday I went to this thing called "Youthquake" it was a Christian concert, there were like 6 different bands including Superchick and Jeremy Camp. I didn't actually go to listen to the music, I was there to sell food. We sold a ton of burger/chicken sandwiches. It was VERY cold. I had on like 16 layers and still froze. But I got to work with who I wanted to, so it was all good.
I also attempted to read Adam Bede for humanities. It is a tough read and not very interesting. I think I fell asleep at least twice while reading. I've also started a huge paper I have to write on Kristen Chenoweth. If you don't know who she is, look her up on youtube and listen to "Taylor the latte boy". I have had that song stuck in my head all day!!

You know those days when life seems amazing. I think today could go into that grouping.
One of my best friends (you may have read about her- Emily) makes up a major portion of my soul. Emily is a year ahead of me, and attends school at Emory and Henry. She loves it there and I love her so life is nice. Only problem is, I typically only see her around Christmas and in the Summer. Well, I was given the assignment in Theatre of going and watching a play- go figure. This assignment wasn't a big deal for me--- in my heart I am a theatre major, and I love to watch them as much as I love to be in them. This assignment gave me a reason to go to Emory today- you see, Emily is a full hearted Theatre major, and she is wonderful at it. This weekend she starred in The Maids. It was a crazy psycological play- and she was great. But thats not the best part. She didn't know I was coming. So when she was doing the whole meet and greet thing, and I ran up to her and latched myself to her the first thing she did was freak out, because someone was latched to her. The second thing she did was say "OMG SIERRA, I can't believe your here! I think I'm going to cry!!" Meanwhile, joyous tears have started falling from her eyes, and seeing her cry has caused me to cry--- and all her friend are freaking out, because Emily just doesn't cry. It was wonderful, and I love to make my Emily happy.
So yeah. Thats what happened today--- in the past four days I've also volunteered at my high school, went to the Storytelling Festival where I heard the infamous Donald Davis, went to work twice, and went "looking" (not to be confused with shopping) in Asheville.

So I made it back safe from Paris and Germany. It was FANTABULOUS!!!
So let's start out this post with a reasoning of why I was there. My mommy had to go over there for this "Automachanica" show. Basically, its an auto show--- go figure. But it also involves part makers and industrial developers as well. This is a freaking huge show. There are 10 segments, each segment has 3 floors, and each floor has probably 50-100 different stalls. And the better majority of the stalls are giving away free stuff- and as a poor college student I am all about this "free stuff". They give away anything from food to bags to pens to ipods. I managed to wander through most of the floors... and collect so much stuff that we (me and my mommy) had to go through it all and decide what was awesome and what could be trashed.
Now, lets go into the Paris trip. One word--- WOW. Paris is pretty, however the better majority of the people were rather rude. There were the select group of nice people, who spoke english and willing helped us out when we got lost--- but that was a very select group. We were in Paris for 2 full days, and walked at least 30,000 steps a day- no exaggeration. I saw some pretty amazing stuff. (Warning: My dorky side is about to come out) At one point we were in the Pantheon. In the bottom of this HUGE building is a crypt. Two amazing writers are lucky enough to have their corpses in this building- Voltaire and Goethe. Talk about exciting. I seriously stood infront of their tombs for a good 15 minutes taking in the awe of it. But I also saw some other cool things- like Versailles. Talk about a huge dusty house, but the gardens are beautiful. Behind Versailles (like 2000 miles behind) is Marie Antoinette's house- which I thought was more beautiful than Versailles, and a lot less dusty. Funny story: We (me, mom, and this guy mom works with Greg) were behind Marie Antoinette's house at the gardens. Mom wanted to sit down for a minute, so I told her I was going to walk around the gardens. I pointed in the direction, and she followed me about 20 steps, then went to sit down. I mosied for a time then went back to where my mom was supposed to be. And she was gone! I saw Greg, walked up to him and said "Mom's freaking out isn't she"--- which I was right, I could just tell. Then I went to the front of Marie's house, and stood there waiting for mom to come out of the house. She came running out, saw me, hugged me, then ran back in. Turns out she had told the Parisian officers she lost her daughter, and they were all looking for me. But then she would let me get more than two feet away from her... I was surprised she didn't get me a leash :)
Well. I have to get to Storytelling class. I'll have to continue on my tales of Germany later.

Alright, so I'm a slacker. I didn't post all summer, and I did all kinds of cool things. I would so write about them, but I am about to encounter something way bigger. In four hours, I head over to the airport and then fly to Germany for 10 whole days!!!! I am so excited, like look up excited in the dictionary and there's a picture of me! With any luck I'll be able to write about my adventures in Frankfurt while I'm there, but if not there will be a series of recap of Sierra's life entries :) And don't worry, my summer will most definately be involved with the recap...

see relatedI think lfe got hectic again. I don't recall where, but I'm pretty sure it got hectic again. This week hasn't been the slowest of weeks, or maybe it has and I jus don't recall. Anyways. The week was pretty, I wish I would have had more time to enjoy it. I remember laying in the sun on Monday, but I didn't get another chance until Friday. I didn't have Wired, or a commission meeting. I remember why I got to lay in the sun Monday, it was Marvolous Monday. But I didn't get to until later in the day- you see I spent the better portion of the day in either Johnson City or Blountville getting my stuff together for my Passport. Then I had to go to Blountville to submit the forms, and hopefully in a few weeks a little blue book will come in the mail for me. The rest of the week flew by. Adam's class was canceled once again on Tuesday, but I had play practice. Thankfully it was right after Wired, so I didn't have to make a second trip to Milligan for the day. Not that I don't love to be at Milligan- rather it's the price of the gas it takes to get there. So Wednesday after my classes, I ran some errands in Bristol and went to the gym. Thursday I had lack of caffeine issues and took a nap in the broadcast lab. Adam's class wasn't canceled though, so I had to joy of having a massive headache as well as being with those silly boys, who were actually understanding of the fact that I didn't want to be there. Their understanding resulted in all four of us (us being the 3 guys and me) singing/dancing to Backstreet Boys. It was actually quite comical. Friday I had my classes (and I actually read the play for Humanities, go me!) then I went home and found my grandparents mulching. I convinced them to take a break so we could go to the little diner in town then we came back I helped them mulch. Then I had the joy of laying in the sun for an hour. But I had to get up at 5 from tanning to go to work. I didn't get back until around 11, and I had to be at work by 6:45 the next morning. I didn't sleep well, and needless to say I really didn't want to get up when my alarm clock went off. But I did. I didn't get to leave until 4:35. Then I came home and jumped onto my bed and dozed on and off for a few hours and around 8, I watched the movie Princess, which totally made me smile. This morning I got up and finished reading my book, and finally got moving. I've cleaned the bathroom, and I've been working my rememorizing my lines again. So my week hasn't been horribly terrible, but I also only managed to take one offical nap (because yesterday's doesn't count!).
For the rest of the day I think I'll continue my busy regiment. I have playpractice at... 2 I think. I also need to look and see if I have any Humanities work I need to do. I should probably vaccuum some, or at least the top floor of the house.
I only have this week of classes left, and Monday for my Humanities exam! Then I don't go back until the end of August! I am SOOOOOOOOO excited! I love the summer, and I love the warm, and I love just running around in a bathing suit and not caring! We're opening our pool on May 5! TOTALLLY EXCITED! And this Thursday is my performace, which I am also excited about. Everyone should come, its going to be great. I also found out that I should be going to Grandfather Mountain again for the Highlands Games with my two very best friends and a few others. I'm really psyched about this summer. It should be great fun.
Hopefully I will be able to sail through this week. Speaking of which, I should be doing a decent amount of that this summer, being as Mr. Coleman has a sail boat and I am his favorite person in the world! I just hope Monday is not near as cold as the weatherman predicts!
